Thomas Ferraro Obituary

Thomas Patrick William Ferraro, 55, of Houston, Texas, passed away on November 2nd, 2017, at Houston Hospice. Tom was born on October 19, 1962, and attended Sidney Central School in Sidney, New York. He became interested in creating music while working at a music store in Warren, New Jersey in the 1980’s. He then went on to become a Software Programmer, and worked at several companies in New Jersey, South Carolina and Texas. Tom loved playing guitar and founded Shades of Grey Productions (SOGP) while in Columbia, SC in 1990. He used this website to launch original songs he created at home by overlaying voice and instrumental tracks. He played in bands in New Jersey and played in the band Cartunes at a variety of venues in the Columbia area. Music continued to be an important part of Tom’s life in Houston, as well. Golf was a sport Tom pursued in Texas. He played in area tournaments, as both an individual and with a foursome of friends, and really improved his game over the years. Tom is survived by his mother, Mary J. Ferraro of Scottsdale, AZ; sister Margaret Peggy Booth and husband Michael of Bainbridge, NY; brother John J. Ferraro of Rochester, NY; sister Theresa A. Harriott and husband Lloyd of Charlottesville, VA; and sister Susan M. Ferraro of Fountain Hills, AZ. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends from New York, New Jersey, South Carolina and Texas. Tom also leaves behind his lovable dog, Sandie, who helped him endure his illness over the past few years. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Ferraro on 7/22/2012. There will be a memorial service in NY at a later time.
