Pat Leon Ward Obituary

Pat Leon Ward, 66, of Houston passed away July 19, 2017, at Houston Hospice.

Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Rosewood Funeral Home Atascocita, 17404 W. Lake Houston Pkwy., Humble, Texas 77346.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2017, at Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel in Atascocita, with Pastor Rob Woolcock officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park, 2602 S. Houston Ave., in Humble.

Pat, a long-time resident of Port Acres, was born July 16, 1951, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Pat and Annie (Premeaux) Ward. He attended Stephen F. Austin High School in Port Acres, Texas, graduating in 1969. He married Barbara Myers on March 6, 1971 in Nederland, Texas. Pat and Barbara were married 46 years. He pursued his love of electrical and construction work with many hours of on-the-job training and classes. At the end of his career, he rose to Electrical and Instrumentation Superintendent with Fluor Daniels where he worked for over 15 years on many construction projects including the construction of new facilities at plants and refineries across the country. His last project before retirement was helping to rebuild infrastructure in Louisiana after the devastation caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

He enjoyed spending time with his family. Family, including his brothers, meant the world to him and spending time by the lake whether it be fishing or just sitting was his favorite activity.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ward of Houston; daughters and their spouses, Jeanie and Doug Wiggins of Groves, Kimberly and Ray Lazarus of Humble, and Stephanie and James Pennington of Groves; brothers and their spouses, Frank and Stephanie Ward of Austin, John and Becky Ward of Seneca, S.C., and Dan and Diane Ward of Labelle; grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah Wiggins, Abby, Henry, and Emily Lazarus, Johnny Greco, and Gage Meyer; step-grandchildren, Megan and Tyler Pennington; and, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Annie Ward, and brothers, Richard and Robert Ward.
