Helen Coogler Humble, Texas Obituary

Helen Coogler

Helen Delight Coogler, 92, passed away in Kingwood, Texas on August 19, 2019. Helen was born in Orange, Texas to Lloyd and Modest Turner on July 26, 1927. Helen attended the MIMS Baptist Church where she was a longtime member. She was raised to be kindhearted and respectful towards others and treated everyone the way she would want to be treated. Family time was always sacred to Helen, so when she married her love, Robert Coogler, also known as “Bob”, she felt truly blessed when two beautiful daughters, Karen and Becky, were brought into this world. Other than being devoted to her family, Helen had enough room in her heart to deeply love her adopted baby, Cowboy. He might have had four legs instead of two, and a race of Boston terrier instead of human, but none the less, he was still family. As for other treasured hobbies, Helen loved to cook. She didn’t have a particular favorite recipe. From breakfasts to special dinners, Helen poured her love for the kitchen into every meal. However, the “excitement” for the kitchen was when she baked. Her presence will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Modest Turner; husband, Robert (Bob) Coogler; brother, David Edward Turner and brother-in-law, Fred Telschow. Survived by her daughters, Karen Haag and spouse Arthur, Rebecca "Becky" Duff; granddaughter, Laura Sopchak Avery; sister, Peggy Telschow; brothers, Wayne Thomas Turner and spouse Daisy, Charles Arthur Turner.
