Stella Bartel

Stella Laverle Bartel was born May 31, 1939 in Terrell, Texas and passed away September 22, 2018 in Pasadena, Texas. She is survived by her daughter, Malinda Bostick and husband Tony; by her grandchildren, Misty Martinez and husband Lalo, David Hogan and wife Leilonie; by her great-grandchildren, Angel Hogan, Faith Hogan, Alysia Martinez, Aubri Martinez, Duke Nelson, Camryn Martinez, and Trey Martinez; by her step-children, Shirley Pockrus, Don Bartel and Gary Bartel; by her step-grandchildren, Scott Cox, Kelli Steele and husband Andy; by step-great-granchildren, Dorian, Maddison, Abby, Charlie, and Buddy, as well as other extended family and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horous and Bertie Ruth Heflin. Stella graduated from American School in Chicago, IL Class of 1964. She retired after 34 years of employment and service from the Texas Department of Health Services. After retirement she volunteered at FEMA. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., on October 6, 2018, at Oakland Cemetery, 1000 W. Moore Ave., Terrell, Texas 75160.
