HURST -- Billy Franklin Whiteside, passed away in his sleep on Monday, June 1, 2015, at the age of 84. Funeral: 12 Noon Thursday in the Chapel of Forest Ridge Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Interment: Friday at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Personal condolences may be sent to the Whiteside family at www.forestridge-fh.com. Bill has lived in Hurst, Texas for 61 years. He was a Sgt (T) serving in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952. He was a deacon at Northpointe Baptist Church. Bill was employed by American Airlines for 37 years, and retired in 1990. He was preceded in death by his parents N.A. and Gladys Whiteside, and his daughter Karen Leigh. Survivors: Billy is survived by his wife, Betty; his son, Bruce & daughter-in-law Denise; and his grandchildren, Carter & Haley. Bill is also survived by siblings, Austin, Jimmy, and Sara Avery of Texarkana; as well as many nieces and nephews.
