ARLINGTON -- Bobby Lee Newsom died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015 in Arlington, surrounded by his family, due to complications of prostate cancer. Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 705 Airport Fwy., Hurst, TX. Interment: 2:00 p.m., Bristol Cemetery in Bristol, TX. Visitaiton: Friday, September 25, 2015, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Lymphatic Education and Research Network at www.lymphaticnetwork.org Bobby was born to Reese and Sybil Newsom in Denison, Texas, on July 27, 1948. After serving with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Way, Bobby earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from North Texas State University. He enjoyed a successful career as an accountant and inventory control specialist for several major oil and retail companies. he retired from Michaels Arts and Crafts in 2015. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Pat Spaur. Bobby is survived by his children, Denece "Reni", Ryan, Rachael, Rebecca and Adam Newsom; daughter-in-law, Ellena; grandsons, Connor and Gabriel; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Betty Newsom of Midland and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
