Brook Cheyenne Cayce, 19, born May 17, 1996, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015, in Tempe, Arizona, of a pulmonary embolism Service: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, at Shady Oaks Baptist Church, 1336 Cavender Drive, Hurst. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 26, at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 705 Airport Frwy., Hurst. Interment: Brook will be laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Memorials: To continue to honor Brook, we ask that, in lieu of flowers, you make a donation to the Brook Cayce Memorial Scholarship or donate children's and young adult books to "Brook's Books." As a family, our hearts are broken, but they are so filled with pride for Brook's accomplishments in her 19 years. Brook had a passion for reading that contributed to her love for learning. She graduated as a National Merit Scholar from L.D. Bell High School in November, 2013. Brook's passion for learning led her to the University of Advancing Technology where she now holds an honorary Bachelor of Science degree in Network Security. As the president of Student Government, she was a leader of incredible students with a creative desire for the future of modern technology. Brook is loved in memory by her parents, Kevan and Shellye Cayce; sister, Kami Cayce; grandparents, Stan and Beverly Standridge, Judy Prescott and the late Richard Prescott; great-grandmother, Jessie Prescott; uncles and aunts, Stan Standridge Jr., Kyle and Paige Watts, Scott and Becky Standridge; family, including Doug and Ann Mitchell, John and Betsy West, Billy and Sandra Lewis; and a host of cousins and extended family.
