HURST -- Daryl Lynn Zimmerman, 41, beloved son of Dale and Marcella Zimmerman, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at his home. He is now singing and walking on streets of gold with his Lord. Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday at North Pointe Baptist Church in Hurst. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Forest Ridge Funeral Home in Hurst. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to "Special Friends" Sunday School Class of North Pointe Baptist Church in Hurst. Daryl was born Nov. 30, 1969, and was physically handicapped from birth. His limitations made absolutely no difference in our love for him. Daryl loved his church, and his "Sweet Gentle" spirit was the point of Praise of North Pointe Baptist Church. Some of the happiest times of his life were being with his family and friends, going to church, attending rodeos, circus, fishing and enjoying trips and all sports events. For over 25 years, Daryl had season tickets to the Trinity and L.D. Bell High School football games. His beautiful God-given smile lifted the spirit of family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors: Parents, Dale and Marcella of Hurst; half sister, Melanie Layton of Mansfield; half brothers, Ed and Tim Zimmerman of Arlington; three aunts; several cousins; many friends; and special friends, Lori Killough and Tim Vanover.
