David Mac Kennedy passed away on March 3, 2016 at 11:38 AM, at the Dallas Veterans Hospital after battling metastatic cancer. David was 63 years old. David was born October 14, 1952 in Ft Worth, Texas and was the first child of Bill and Ruth Ann Kennedy. He had one brother, Dan, and one sister, Dana. David was married to the love of his life Brystol Danielle Fry Kennedy, on September 5, 1976. During his life, David honorably served his country with the Army National Guard and Reserve units for over 18 years, which included active service during the Gulf War. David graduated from Northwest High School and later attended and earned a Political Science degree from the University of North Texas. He later used this degree to mold the next generations mind through 15 years of service as a teacher in the state of Texas David always taught them to think outside the box, set goals, and how to use their talents to reach those goals. He resided in Beeville, Texas for the past 12 years, and enjoyed spending time with his two sons, his six granddaughters, and his family. David had numerous hobbies which included: camping, putting on his radio show, Hunter Joe, watching old movies and drinking dirty martinis. He had a wonderful sense of humor and strong love for ice cream, Coca-Cola and Dr. Pepper. David is survived by his dad and stepmom, Bill and Earline Kennedy; his brother and his wife, Dan and Minnie; his sister and her husband, Dana and Barry Thompson; his two sons and their wives, Kody and Rachel Kennedy, Cory and Alex Kennedy; six beautiful granddaughters, Caylee, Kaylee, Alexa, Carlie, Riley and Reagan; and numerous cousins and close family friends. He is pre-deceased by his mother, Ruth Ann Wells, and his wife, Brystol Danielle Fry Kennedy. Graveside services will be held at 12:00PM, Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery, Garden of Faith. For more information please call Forest Ridge Funeral Home in Hurst, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to one of David's favorite charities, MD Anderson Cancer Center or your local VA facility.
