Doris Turner, 78, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014. Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Ridge Funeral Home. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Forest Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association, World Vision or charity of your choice. Doris Turner was born on Sept. 18, 1935, in Great Bend, Kan. She married Charles E. Turner on Nov. 25, 1956. Doris was actively involved in the charities: Mexico Multiple Mission, World Vision, Teen Challenge and a volunteer at Harris H-E-B and H-E-B ISD. She was also a member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church. Doris was preceded in death by husband, Charles E. Turner, and daughter, Deborah Applegate. Survivors: Children, Karen Morgan and husband, Jamie, Blake Turner and wife, Kate; brothers, Clyde and Lloyd Caldwell; grandchildren, Rachel Wright and husband, Eric, Jason Morgan, April Bradley and husband, Joshua; great-grandchildren, Sarver and Millie Wright.
