Dorthia Reid

Dorthia Helen Robertson Reid, 88, of Saint Francis Village, Crowley, Texas, passed away December 3, 2011 at Odyssey Hospice House from complications of lymphoma. Service: A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will held at Saint Francis Protestant Chapel, 281 Saint Clare Drive, Crowley, Texas at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 17, 2011. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Odyssey Hospice House, 6940 River Park Circle, Fort Worth, TX 76116 or to a favorite charity. Dorthia was born in Everman, Texas and was a descendant of the original Vaughn family that settled in Everman. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Everman since she was twelve years of age. Dorthia had retired from general office and credit work for many years. She enjoyed living at Saint Francis Village in Crowley, Texas which had been her home for the past nineteen years. The family would like to thank Dr. Christi Aitelli and the wonderful staff of Texas Oncology on Harris Parkway and the Odyssey Hospice House on River Park Circle in Fort Worth, for the wonderful care they provided. Dorthia was preceded in death by her son, James Ernest Self. Survivors: Dorthia is survived by her son, Gary Self and wife, Judy; granddaughters, Charr Wise and husband Brooks and Candace Self; grandson, Corby Self; and three great-grandsons, Jake Wise, James Self and Corby Self, Jr.
