Eulalia Soto-Ferrer HURST, Texas Obituary

Eulalia Soto-Ferrer

BEDFORD -- Eulalia Ferrer, better known as Lilah, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in Fort Worth. Service: 12:30 pm, Saturday Feb. 27 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Bedford, TX. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association. Lilah was a widow for 40+ years and leaves behind 3 daughters, Midgie, Magie and Missy; three grandsons; and an only granddaughter, Fiorella, which she loved dearly. Lilah was born in Puerto Rico and moved to New York City at the age of 17 years old with her older sister, Gloria, where she spent the majority of her life. She enjoyed the melting pot of ethnicity and adapted many Irish, Jewish and Italian dishes with a Spanish twist. She did delicious meatballs but never shared a recipe. Lilah made her life around her daughters and “Fiorellita”. She relocated to Bedford, Texas to spend quality time with her only granddaughter, Fiorella, in Southlake, TX. She never missed a special event to see her granddaughter perform in extracurricular activities or be present at her 1st day of school. Lilah leaves a legacy for her family as a model of values and traditions. She was a devote Catholic, who prayed daily for others with a candle lit and always sending blessings as you walked out the door. She passed on these values to her family to be: Godly, humble, tell the truth, do good on to others, get educated, read more and get ahead to be independent in life. Lilah enjoyed her cup of “manzanilla” tea, trying a new recipe from the Food Network, Joel Osteen, and reading every newspaper she could get a hold of. She was like a walking news app, well versed on the latest news updates and politics globally. And she always had an opinion on the running political candidates! LOL. Mom/Nana we will miss you dearly and know you will be in heaven with dad, Teddy. Thank you for the beautiful memories, for blessing our hearts, and the wise words shared. Your love will live in us forever!
