Glendean Toler Obituary

HURST -- Glendean King Toler, 86, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Funeral: The interment procession will meet at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 853 Bedford-Euless Road, Hurst. Interment: 10:15 a.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 12:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Church. Memorials: Disabled American Veterans or a charity of choice. "Gram" was a legal secretary for Storey, Armstrong, Steger & Martin in Dallas, Fort Worth District Attorney Doug Crouch, AT&T in Little Rock, Ark., and County Prosecutor Pep Fly in Victoria. She was a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge Eastern Star (Victoria Chapter), Methodist Church and charity group leader in Hurst and Buena Vista, Colo. Glendean was a proud Texan and lifelong Democrat and campaigned for Presidents Kennedy and Johnson, Hon. Jim Wright and Gov. John Connally. She was a graduate of Shamrock High School in Shamrock. With her husband, Allan M. Toler, who died in 2005, to whom she was the devoted wife for 63 years, she raised three children and spent almost every summer in beautiful Buena Vista, Colo. Survivors: Brother, Fred King and wife, Pat, of Hurst; sisters, Mary King Selby of Austin and Patricia King Axe and husband, John; her children, Glenda Toler Johnson of Bedford, Michael Toler and wife, Marybeth, of Cornwall, N.Y., Paul "Bill" Toler and wife, Melanie, of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Chris Johnson, Stacey Johnson Warner, Erich Toler, Matthew Toler, Jeffrey Toler, Courtney Toler and Mark Toler; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Johnson, Alaina Johnson, Aiden Toler, Garrett Warner, Cooper Warner and Whitney Toler; aunt, Peggy King; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.
