James Cox

HURST -- James D. Cox, 88, a pastor, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011. Service: 6 p.m. Thursday in Forest Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Hurst. Inurnment: 10:45 a.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association. The Rev. Cox was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Buffalo Springs. He was a World War II veteran. After his discharge, he graduated from the Bible Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth. He founded and pastored Bonnie Drive Baptist Church and also pastored South Fort Worth Baptist Temple. Survivors: Wife, Oaunita "Nita" Cox; son, Dwight Cox and wife, Debra, of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Heather Schrock, Tad Schrock and Warren Cox; and seven great-grandchildren.
