Jerry was born on September 6, 1940 in Gould, Oklahoma to Louis H. McEndree and Lucy M. Gilliam McEndree. He left Altus Oklahoma at age 18 to find a new life in Texas in July of 1959. Jerry was working at F.W. Woolworths as a stock boy. One day he entered the stock room and found 16 year old Jane Ellen Little, a new employee straightening up the sign cabinet. She had just moved to Hurst from Dallas with her family. They were both new to Hurst and didn't know anyone yet. That stock room brightened up that day for both Jerry and Jane and they began dating and were engaged by October. However, Jane still had 2 years of high school so they planned to marry after she graduated in May of 1961. Jerry and Jane married May 11, 1961 at First Baptist Church of Hurst which they both joined in 1959. In the coming years they added 3 children to their family, Christophe Scott, Lori Lynn, and Stephen Todd McEndree. Jerry began working at General Motors in Arlington October of 1963. He was still working at General Motors when he died and was number 3 senority in the plant. He worked there for over 52 years. Jerry was a very hard worker all of his life. He also worked with wife Jane for the Fort Worth Star Telegram as a carrier for 28 years. Jerry and Jane were married 54 years and it would have been 55 years in May of 2016. They are members of North Point Baptist Church in Hurst which is located where the old First Baptist Church of Hurst was in 1961. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Paul McEndree and sister, Melba McEndree. Survivors: wife, Jane McEndree; sons, Scott McEndree (wife, Chery) and Stephen McEndree (wife Tonya); daughter, Lori McEndree; 8 grandchildren, Shawn, Chris (fiancee Lauren), Ben and Hope McEndree (children of Scott and Chery), and Bethany, Nathan, Brittany, and Jonathan McEndree (children of Stephen and Tonya); he is also survived by his dogs, Schotzie and Ling-Ling; and grandpuppy, Pandy Su (Lori's) who all enjoyed sharing his chair with him.
