BEDFORD - Jewel Marie Garsaud, 79, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 at an area care center. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with a Liturgical Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 705 Airport Freeway in Hurst, TX. An additional visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA. Funeral Service: 10 A.M. Saturday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, in New Orleans. Jewel was born April 8, 1934 in New Orleans to Woodroy and Nydia Wadenpfuhl Sr. She was a kind and gentle lady, a wonderful Mother and and incredibly caring Grandmother. She was very close to her five siblings and was active in the Catholic Church. Jewel enjoyed her years as a PE teacher at Spring Shadows Elementary School in Houston. She will be missed by everyone she touched. Survivors: Son, John Garsaud and wife Lea Ann; brother, Sterling (Whitey) Wadenpfhul and her grandchildren, Erin, Kristen and Morgan.
