ARLINGTON -- John Joseph Susi, 58, passed away Monday, June 18, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Memorial Mass: xx:xx am xxxxxxx at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Arlington. Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the North Texas Chapter of the Alzheimers Association, 2630 West Freeway, Ste: 100, Ft. Worth, TX 76102. John was born January 12, 1954 in Miami, Fl. He was an accomplished high school football player where he attained All American and All State recognition and was the 1969 Miami Herald Sophomore of the Year. John went on to play football for Florida State University and graduated from the University of Miami. John was a member of the Allied Pilots Association. He was an accomplished pilot for various airlines prior to joining American Airlines. He was an avid hunter and a gourmet cook. John was preceded in death by his father Alfred D. Susi and a great-uncle, Rev. Francis Lechiara. Survivors: wife, Lesa Susi; son, Christopher Susi; daughter, Stacey Smith; sister, Jeanne Vastbinder and her husband Rod; brother, James Anthony Susi; sister-in-law Lawrin Dean and husband Dennis and a niece Kellyn Schneringer.
