On Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at approximately 7:20 a.m., the world and his expansive soccer and neighborhood community lost one of our best when Jose Perez, 18, was killed in a tragic car crash. Funeral: 5 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Forest Ridge Funeral Home in Hurst. A rosary will follow. Visitation: The family will receive friends noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Jose had many struggles in his life, all of which he overcame, to become a great soccer player for the Gators Soccer Club, the United States U-17 national team, F.C. Dallas and San Jacinto Junior College, where he was pursuing one of his goals, a college education. He was a longtime Euless resident and Trinity High School alumni. If you knew him, you will miss him forever. If you didn't, you will never know what you missed. Survivors: He leaves behind his beloved mother, Elsa, and father, Antonio; wonderful sister, Natalie; brother, Anthony; his little sister, Kimberly; and so many teammates, coaches and officials who recognized his greatness and appreciated his contribution to each of them. He also leaves behind his novia, Alejandra, and his unborn son. Pray that the Lord gives Jose's and Alejandra's son the courage, determination, love, humility, ability and generosity that the Lord gave to Jose.
