Linda Clare Lanier, 70, a homemaker died peacefully at her home Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She had a deep and abiding faith in God that sustained her through a long illness. Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 20th at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Hurst. Inurnment will be at Grace Presbyterian Church in Victoria, Texas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 852 W. Bedford Euless Rd., Hurst, TX 76053 or Grace Presbyterian Church, 3604 Ben Jordan, Victoria, Texas 77901. Linda was born in Weatherford, TX on March 10, 1941. She graduated from Beaumont High School and attended Lamar University. She lived in Victoria for 35 years and moved to North Richland Hills in 2009 to be near her son and his family. Linda was as devoted wife to Scotty Lanier for 51 years. She was also a loving, kind and caring mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook, loved to listen to music and read. Her gentle, caring and generous spirit will always be an inspiration to all who knew her. Survivors: Husband, W.S. "Scotty" Lanier; son, Steven Lanier, his wife Kathy and granddaughter Avery; brother, Bill Clare and his wife, Maria; sister-in-law, Betty Clare and her daughters, Allison, Michelle, Shannon and Heather and their husbands and children
