Oliver McClintock Obituary

Arlington -- Oliver Kenneth (Ken) McClintock Jr., 67, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral: 11:00 a.m. Monday at First Assembly of God DFW, 3800 Hwy 121, Bedford. Visitation: 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m Sunday at Forest Ridge Funeral Home in Hurst. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Ken's name to the Arthritis Foundation or the Brighten the Light Building Fund in care of First Assembly of God DFW, 3800 Hwy 121, Bedford, TX 76021. Ken was born on March 23, 1944, in Haskell, TX, to Oliver Kenneth McClintock Sr. and Anna Lee Pittman McClintock. He was in the first graduation class of Abilene Cooper High School in 1962. He attended Hardin-Simmons University. He retired from the Abilene Post Office after 29 years of service. On February 8, 1969, Ken married Brenda Joyce Turner in Wolfforth, TX. They shared 42 years of love and happiness. He was enormously proud of their two sons, Brent Kenneth and Bryan Len, and he had a special place in his heart for his daughters-in-law, Vicki and Michelle. But what gave him tremendous joy and happiness were his grandchildren, twins, Jacob and Grace, Sarah, and twins Ashton and Brayden. To those who knew him, Ken was an honorable example of how to live a noble life. His courage, determination, patience and gentle spirit were an inspiration to all. His love for new tech gadgets and his notable talent to aptly learn new things were well known. He had a keen sense of humor and delighted in sending corny jokes and humorous stories to friends and family. His proudest titles were loving husband, proud father and doting "Paw-Paw." Those who met Ken understood that he lived his Christian faith. He remained a true servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. II Timothy 4:7 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." Other survivors include sisters, Anna Marie (Don) Fletcher and Trisha (Mike) Goode; Aunt, Jewel Pittman; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and an abundance of loving and caring friends.
