Funeral services for Robert Ray Grant (70) of North Richland Hills will be 2:00p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Forest Ridge Memorial Chapel in North Richland Hills. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Robert passed away May 4, 2017 while traveling with his wife in New Mexico. He was born August 1, 1946 to Charley and Ida Grant in Cushing, OK. He was a member of the Sac and Fox Nation, Fox Clan. As a boy, he grew up in the country raising chickens, playing sports, attending family gatherings and pow wows. He was a straight dancer growing up. Robert attended college at University of Oklahoma and was active in the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. He met the love of his life, Jayne Grant on a blind date while attending school. Robert graduated in 1970 with a Masters in Business Administration, although his passion was writing, English and French. Following college, he immediately went to work with General Services Administration with the Federal Government. He later transferred to Federal Protective Services. Robert had many passions and interests in life. He adored his family, sports cars, reading, writing, gardening, traveling, music and of course, Sooners Football. His kind nature made him loved and respected by everyone he came across. Some even called him a walking encyclopedia. Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife Norma Jayne Grant, sister Lana Sue Grant, daughters Kimberly Grant and Kristen Grant, grandchildren Evan Pritchett, Emily Halterman, Skii McWalters, Erika Shelton and Robert Tye McWalters and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
