Robert William Greenwell October 27 1919 – May 1, 2015 Beloved father and grandfather, Robert “Bob” Greenwell, passed away peacefully in his sleep after 95 years of love, service, and family. Bob was born in San Francisco to Glenn Chester Greenwell and Minnie (Boehme) Greenwell. The family moved to Los Angeles and Bob graduated from Manual Arts High School on February 3, 1938 where he especially enjoyed working as a bookbinder on the yearbook, The Artisan. On April 16, 1942 he married June Elizabeth (Fielder). Bob worked as a small parts assembler until inducted in the Army in November of 1942. He served with the 757th Bomb Squadron, 459th Bomb Group as an airplane and engine mechanic. Some of his battles and campaigns included Rome-Arno, Rhineland, North Apennines, Po Valley, and Normandy. After honorably separating from the Army he joined the California National Guard whilst supporting a family as a hardware salesman. During the Korean War he worked with Battery B 981st Field Artillery Battalion as a Motor Sergeant. After his military service ended he settled in Ventura, California, raised his family and worked in the lumber and hardware business. Predeceased by his beloved June, Bob is survived by their three children Margie Nolan and her husband Patrick, Linda Greenwell and her partner Linda Villarreal, and Barbara Webb and her husband Jim; grandchildren Terri Nolan and her husband Scott Bozanic, Randy Nolan (predeceased), Rob Webb, Capt. Andrew Webb and his wife Allyson; great-grandchildren Brenna Bozanic and her husband Daniel Polcari, David Bozanic, and Derek, Miles, and Rachel Webb. A memorial service will be held on June 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery. Bob will be reunited with June who has been patiently waiting since June 27, 2001.
