EULESS -- Robert V. Lopez, born Oct. 5, 1942, in Sanford, Colo., passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, in Bedford at the age of 69. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 705 Airport Freeway, Hurst. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3713 Harwood Road, Bedford. Burial: 12:45 p.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in the name of Robert V. Lopez to either The American Cancer Society or www.brookwoodcommunity.org Robert served his country in Vietnam and retired from the Army Reserve as a lieutenant colonel with eight years of active duty. He was a civil engineer and retired from the Cement Council of Texas as the executive director. He earned his B.S. in civil engineering from the University of California at Long Beach and later received his M.S. in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. Survivors: Loving wife of 44 years, Carol; daughter, Karin Lopez; daughter, Monica Crane and husband, Todd; son, Michael Lopez; mother, Rose Lopez; grandchildren, Dallas Lopez, Maddox Crane and Jackson Crane; and sisters, Gen Gaunt and Betty Wynn.
