Ronald Walter Mankel

Ronald “Ron” Walter Mankel, 77, passed peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, November 25th, 2015.
Ron was born in Wisconsin in 1938. After graduating high school, he joined the military. While serving in Texas, he met and married Betty Roberson. They were married for 56 years. They have 4 children, 17 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Ron earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from UTA. He retired from Bell Helicopter, and did subsequent contract work for Siemens Corp. He served as a Commissioner for Hurst Girls Softball in the 1970’s. In his final years, Ron enjoyed taking classes at TCC and at the Hurst Senior Center. He enjoyed the camaraderie, friends and activities at the Center immensely. Ron treasured watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and attending their numerous activities and milestones.
He will be greatly missed.
Ron is survived by his wife, Betty Mankel.
Daughter, Joanne Meadows and her husband Jim. Their children; Andy Meadows and his wife Sarah. Their children; Abigail, Isabelle, and Marin.
Jordan Goforth, and her husband Derek. They are expecting twins in 2016. Samuel and Daniel Meadows, both are presently serving in the military.
Daughter, Janet Bagwell and her husband Terry. Their children; Ashlee Kirkland and her husband Ryan. Their daughter, Ella. Aaron and Taylor McCarty, Emily Bagwell.
Son, Richard Mankel and his wife, Kristy. Their children; Megan and Ally Mankel.
Son, Bobby Mankel and his wife, Misty. Their children; Lauren, Mackensi, and RJ Mankel.
