Timothy James Romero HURST, Texas Obituary

Timothy James Romero

Timothy James Romero passed away December 5, 2016 in Euless, Texas at the age of 48. Those who were touched by Tim's life are invited to a visitation from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 11 at Forest Ridge Funeral Home in Hurst; since Tim loved to “tell his life in stories,” please bring a memory or story of him to share for the family. Funeral service: will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 3713 E. Harwood, Bedford on Monday, December 12 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the SPCA of Texas at www.spca.org - please put Tim Romero in the comment section. Tim was born on February 4, 1968 in Denver, Colorado. Tim grew up in the Denver area before the family moved to Texas. He had innate business savvy that began when he started selling candy bars to his classmates for a profit as an entrepreneurial grade-schooler. So it made sense when he graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in finance and began a career as a financial advisor. Tim had an adventurous streak that spurred him on to everything from doing back flips off the diving board to taking a solo motorcycle trip to Sturgis throughout the western U.S. Tim was a lifelong soccer player, and continued to play in several adult leagues. He shared his passion for the game by coaching kids for over 25 years. Children loved Tim, for his empathy, patience, and of course, his playful sense of humor. He inspired and encouraged many young lives, starting with his younger siblings, who considered him a second father in addition to a protective older brother. He discovered a love of cooking at a young age, and seemed most at home over a grill or perfecting his famous spaghetti sauce. Tim had a soft spot for dogs, and spent many hours walking dogs at the animal shelter and for pet owners who were unable to take their dogs out. Tim was beloved by everyone who knew him, and had a huge heart; he had a knack for noticing anyone left out in a crowd, and always made an effort to say a kind word or make them smile. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Katelyn Romero, and Brandon Romero; their mother, Deborah Romero; parents, James and Elizabeth Romero; siblings Julie Christian and husband Kevin, Michael Romero and wife Edith, Kathleen Romero and husband Brian, Rick Yager and wife Heidi, and Marcia Romero and husband Jeff; as well as many in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins; nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Tim; and many who called him friend.
