Misti Dawn Martinez-Rakowski, 40, of Burleson, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 28, 2019. A viewing will be held at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, 3407 Southwest Wilshire Blvd., Joshua, Texas 76058, 817-426-3200 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at Pathway Church, 325 NW Renfro Street, Burleson, Texas 76028, 817-295-5832 on Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Judy Madden of Pathway Church will be officiating, and burial will follow service. Misti was born September 29, 1979 in Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated from Joshua High School in 1998. Misti attended Texas Wesleyan University. She completed United States Air Force Basic Training in San Antonio in 2002. Misti gave birth to the love of her life, son, Lane Podsednik, August 26, 2007. She married Danan Rakowski on March 27, 2016. Misti lived life to the fullest. She had a passion for people and loved to talk. She had a positive energy that was contagious and a smile that would light up the room. Her favorite hobby was spending quality time with her family and friends. Misti held herself and those around her to a high code of integrity, very determined pursuer of excellence, and natural leader. She spent 15 years of her professional career in various business development positions but flourished as a Corporate Recruiter. Her professionalism and work ethics were highly respected by her colleagues. She was active in various community programs including Celebrate Recovery. Misti was a grateful believer in Jesus Christ. She was a member of Open Door and Pathway Churches in Burleson, Texas. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Danan Rakowski, her sons, Lane Podsednik and Izaak Rakowski, her daughter, Kaylyn Johnson. Her parents, Sharee and Kelly Williams of Joshua, Texas, Arnold and Rebecca Martinez of San Diego, California. Her grandmother, Geneva Key of Fort Worth, Texas. Brothers, Micah and John Martinez of San Diego, California, Casey Williams of Denver, Colorado. Sisters, Kelsey Rendon of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Paula and Laura Martinez of San Diego, California. Plus many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Misti was very loved and will be deeply missed, we know she is in God’s loving arms and finally at peace.
