Born on a prosperous cotton farm near Hamburg, Arkansas on October 7, 1916, Alleen was the 10th of 11 children of Harvey and Fannie Noble. She was their youngest daughter and the last surviving sibling of her seven brothers and three sisters. She graduated from Southwest Texas State College with a degree in Home Economics and did her graduate work at Fort Collins, Colorado. She began her teaching career in and around the Austin, San Marcus and Corpus Christi area. She had a circle of friends who gave her great joy. Her sense of humor startled and delighted everyone who knew her. Her nephews thought she was the most beautiful aunt they could imagine. After Gene’s death, Alleen was lovingly cared for by Ina Beth and Jack Forrest. She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews who treasured her laughter, her style and her love.
