Ann Fulton Obituary

Ann Bozeman Fulton, 73, of Simsboro, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2015. She was born in Personville to O.T. and Allie B. Bozeman on September 27, 1941. Ann attended Fair Oaks School and graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1960. She married Gerald Lee Fulton on June 14, 1963. For years, Ann was a fixture in downtown Mexia, where she worked at K. Wolens, Western Auto and Goodyear Tire Company. She also worked as activity director and assistant administrator at Haven Nursing Home before returning to retail business as manager of Sinclair’s Shoes and J’s Outlet. Ann retired from Mexia I.S.D. During her retirement years, she worked part-time at the Pickin’ Patch. Ann served as a Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible School director, touching the lives of scores of children, as she did during her 14 years of working at R.Q. Sims Intermediate School. She had a heart for children, the elderly and the underprivileged. Ann always wanted the best for those she loved, encouraging them to make the best choices they could in life. She loved to garden, fish, play games, can vegetables and fruit, collect recipes, cook and make her house a home. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Traci Leigh Fulton; brother, George Bozeman; a nephew, Tilmon Bozeman; and a niece, Rhonda Bozeman Whitfield. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gerald Lee Fulton of Simsboro; son, Rev. Gerald Lynn (Jerry) Fulton and wife, Cassie, of Waxahachie; brother, Otis Bozeman of Point Enterprise; brother, William Bozeman and wife, Sharron, of Point Enterprise; sister, Donna Robinson of Mexia; aunts, Sug Lloyd and Faye McClaran of Mexia; two nephews, Bill Bozeman and Clinton Bozeman; three nieces, Sherry Crawford, Christie Robinson and Stefani Slaughter; five great-nephews; six great-nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Ken Buchanan, Mike Hughes, Alan Ingram, Bobby Lide, Ross Mathison and Phil Posey. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Edwards, J.E. Evans, Warner Hancock, Charles Holmes, Ray Newsom and Donny Turner. Funeral services will be at Calvary Baptist Church in Mexia on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Fulton, Rev. Paul Gauntt and Rev. Gaylan Henry officiating. Interment will follow at Lost Prairie Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Memorials may be made to one of the ministries led by Rev.
