Annie Posey Obituary

Mrs. Annie Mary (Aycock) Posey passed from this world on June 17, 2008 and was promoted to glory where she will be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all eternity. She was born on June 11, 1914. Mrs. Posey lived most of her life in Mexia, Texas, and was a faithful wife and wonderful Mother. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Mexia, in her latter years, and faithful in her commitment to Jesus Christ throughout her life. Heaven will be richer because of her presence there. She worked in retail sales for a good part of her life, working at Sinclair's in Mexia for many years. She loved helping others in selecting clothes, and found great joy in doing so. She was a fabulous homemaker, and served many meals for her family and for others. Holidays were always special because of her warmth and home-cooked meals. A book could be written of her deeds of kindness for others, done mostly out of sight. She was a blessing to her family and to many others, and will be remembered fondly. Walmart, J. C. Penny's, and many garage sales in Mexia will miss her presence, as well! She loved to go shopping for clothes and enjoyed "garage saling" with her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. R. and Willie Osborne; by her husbands, R. E. (Laddie) Aycock and Liston Posey; by sisters, Ruby Hancock, Idell Dominy, Ethel Hudson and Lillie Thomas; brother Guy Capehart; sisters-in law Mildred Wright and Vivian Aycock; and by nephew, Dan Capehart. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Peoples of Baytown, and her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Kay Aycock of Tyler; four grandchildren, Michele Kervin and husband, Jeremy of Baytown, Jason Peoples and wife, Jen of Boston, Ma., Jennifer Aycock of Chicago, Ill., Lauren Aycock of Grapevine, Tx.; two step-grandchildren, Dixie Woods of Tyler, and Joshua Kendrick of Tyler; three great-grandchildren, Brittany, Jessica and J. T. Kervin of Baytown and two step great-grandchildren, Zachary and Bradley Woods of Tyler. The family would like to thank the staff at Park Place Nursing Center who were so kind to Mom during her time there. You made her stay there much more pleasant and your care for her, especially during her last days, is very much appreciated. Also to the staff at Hospice of East Texas who were so very caring during her brief time with them. Visitation with the family will be Thursday 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Services will be at First Baptist Church in Mexia, Friday, June 20, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. David Mitchell conducting the service. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Kervin, John Yancy, Joshua Kendrick, Eric Woods, Zachary Woods and Don Sims.
