Aubrey Elbert Morris, Jr. went to be with the Lord peacefully in his sleep the morning of January 5, 2015. A memorial service will be at Arlington Heights United Methodist Church, 4200 Camp Bowie Blvd. Fort Worth on Wednesday, Jan. 7th at 3:30 PM. Graveside will be Thursday, Jan. 8th at 1:00 PM at the Mexia City Cemetery, 900 North Kaufman. Aubrey was born in Corsicana, TX, January , 18, 1922 to Aubrey and Lily Morris. He lived his early years in Mexia, TX. He proudly served his country during World War II in the South Pacific on the island of Okinawa. He graduated from the University of Texas. He married Betty Lou Richardson, his best friend, November 23, 1950. They moved to Fort Worth when he was hired at Convair (now Lockheed). He and Betsy raised 3 children while working in Alabama, Arizona and back to Texas . He opened his home for various prayer groups and religious meetings nurturing Christian growth in his fellow man. He was an active member of several churches throughout his life, the current one being Bethesda Community Church. Aubrey was an avid reader, most recently westerns. He enjoyed TV but just could not get enough of JAG. He also was known to sneak food to the granddogs. He will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Betsy; daughters, Kellye Nolen and husband, Jim and Toni Strukely and husband, Carl; son, Tres and wife Laura; grandchildren Noel Nolen and wife, Dollie, Nia Callan and husband, Joe, Victoria Morris, Carly Morris and Aubrey Morris IV and great-grandchildren.
