Carl Jones Obituary

Carl Wayne Jones, 60, passed away January 1, 2015 at his home in Shiloh. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Gray and Rev. Shane Norcross officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4-6 p.m., Sunday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Carl Wayne was born May 18, 1954 in Mexia, Texas to Carl A. and Nanci Beth Wooten Jones. He graduated from Mexia High School in 1973. He was employed by Lone Star Gas for a number of years prior to becoming disable. Prior to working for Lone Star Gas, he worked in the oil field for many years, owned a landscaping business and worked in the Maintenance Department at the Mexia State School. Carl Wayne married Gloria “Kay” Coleman on March 28, 1992 in Mexia. He loved sports. During high school, he played football and after high school, he played softball for many years. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of the Mexia and Groesbeck Bass Club. Carl Wayne had a friendly, outgoing personality; never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents. Carl Wayne is survived by his wife, Kay of Shiloh; daughters, Amanda Leah Tollett of Coolidge and Jennifer Ann Court of Bryan; sons, Robert J. Mangham of Longview and Ryan J. Mangham of Canon City CO; grandchildren, Clayton and Chance Preston, Kyle and Dylan Tollett, Brayden Jones, Ragan and Cameron Mangham; brother, Howard “Cliff” Jones of Groesbeck. Pallbearers will be Kyle Tollett, Chance Preston, Clayton Preston, Allen Currie, Brian Wiley and Trey Padgett.
