Charles Adrian “Chuck” Lynch, 67, of Mexia, passed away February 13, 2014 in Waco, Texas. A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel. Visitation with family and friends will follow at the Forrest Place, 500 E. Palestine in Mexia. Chuck was born February 23, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas to Francis Adrian Lynch and Billie Lucille Cox Bethel. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and then received his Bachelor and Masters Degree from North Texas University followed by his Doctorate from Baylor University. Chuck retired from the Mexia State School after 30 years of service as the Director of Staff Development, having been named Director of the Year for the State of Texas during his tenure. Chuck married Martha Clark on July 30, 1980. He was an avid runner and golfer. He also enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, singing and spending time with his favorite gals (puppies), Sophie, Missy, Annie and Maggie. Happiness for him was being at home on Lake Mexia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Bethel and brother, Robert Thomas Lynch. Chuck is survived by his wife, Martha Lynch of Mexia; father and step-mother, Adrian and Margie Lynch of Coolidge; daughter, Vera Lynch Walker of Tulsa OK; grandson, Jax Luzier of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Rusti Lynch Moore of Huston and Cynthia Lynch Kelly of Lewisville; three nieces; four nephews; and his “babies”, Sophie, Missy, Annie and Maggie.
