Dale Dawson Obituary

Dale Dawson, 80, of Mexia, passed away December 23, 2015 in Groesbeck. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel. Interment will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery, Flynn, TX.


Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.


Dale was born in Winkler, Texas on April 8, 1935 to Jesse Oliver and Nettie Mae Day Dawson. He was a retired fireman of the Waco Fire Department. Dale served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.


Dale was also a pilot, flying was something he really loved. As a young man, he enjoyed deer hunting. He was a 50 year member of the Cotton Gin Masonic Lodge #154 where he had served as a Past Master. He was a member of the Tehuacana Methodist Church. Dale loved the Lord, loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them.


He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Steven Dawson.


Dale is survived by his wife, Linda Watson Dawson of Mexia; daughter, Robin Dawson of St. Augustine, TX; step-children, Amy Bellah of Marquez and Clint Bellah of Groesbeck; five step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; sister, Patricia D. Wallace of Waco; and brother, Earl Dawson of Streetman.


Memorials may be made to the Methodist Home in Waco or the Clear Creek Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 104, Flynn, TX 77855.
