Diana Collins

Diana Collins, 67, of John's Creek Georgia, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 in the Shiloh Cemetery. Mr. Marc Wilson will officiate. Diana was born July 15, 1943 in Mexia, Texas to John Davis and Rose Nell Hines Collins. She was a 1961 graduate of Mexia High School. Diana's love of reading drew her to a career with the Fulton County Library. Spending time with her granddaughters, particularly, watching their soccer games was very special to her reminding her why she loved living in Georgia. She loved her two dogs, Trevor and Charlie, and was a passionate bird watcher, keeping several bird feeders at her home. Diana was also an avid collector of "old" things, especially vintage jewelry and furniture. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, John Lewis; son, and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sherre Brillanti; three granddaughters, Sara, Gina and Anna Brillanti; brother, John David Collins and wife, Kellye of Houston; and sister, Kathy Collins Goolsby and husband, Randy of Wortham. She is further survived by two nephews, David Collins of New Orleans, LA., Jamie Goolsby and wife, Libby of Wortham; three nieces, Melissa Easterling and husband, Steve of Mexia, Jennifer Vogel and husband, Kent of Wortham and Sara Goolsby of Houston; and cousins, Jonell Trumble of Mexia and Patsy Gauntt of Palestine. Memorial services were held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Southcare Memorial Center in Alpharetta, Georgia.
