Dorothy Lahrmann

Dorothy M. Lahrmann, 79, of Mexia, entered in to heaven on March 23, 2014. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Benji Magnaye officiating. Interment will follow in the Point Enterprise Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Dorothy was born July 29, 1934 in Mexia, Texas to Will and Francis Alexander Barkouskie. She graduated from Teague High School and was a lifetime of resident of Freestone and Limestone counties. Dorothy worked for J. C. Penney’s in Mexia and then, for many years, the Mexia State School until her retirement. She was very outgoing and enjoyed being around people. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished her time spent with them. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rhonda Jarrell; and brother, Marion Barkouskie. Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and John Stone of Troup, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Robin Ferguson of Mexia; six grandsons; two granddaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernadette Stone and husband, W.N. of Mexia and Louise Horn of Palestine; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Stone, Jered Stone, Brandon Ferguson, Ronnie Barkouskie and Vince Assini.
