Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Edyth Byrne, 78, of Houston will be 2 PM Monday, December 29, 2008 in the Mexia Cemetery. Neil Bond will officiate at the service. Mrs. Byrne was born Nov. 5, 1930 to Henry Thomas Walters and Iola Plummer Walters. Her father served as pastor to several churches and was also a butcher at Cooper Grocery in Mexia, the store where he married many couples. Mrs. Byrne was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. Byrne. She is survived by her children, Latreece Marie Webb of LaPorte and Michael Wallace Byrne of Canyon Lake. Mrs. Byrne is also survived by several grandchildren and by her sister, Mrs. Doris Malone of Houston
