Elouise York

Elouise “Pookie” York, 79, of Teague, passed away July 19, 2016 in Mexia, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 24, 2016 in the Greenwood Cemetery in Teague with Bro. Jeremy Webb officiating. Elouise was born in Bald Prairie, Texas on November 4, 1936 to Basil Kinner and Ruby Ozelle Long Watson. She worked at Parkview Regional Hospital for approximately 20 years, where she was voted “Best Employee of the Year” several times. Elouise enjoyed cooking, family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and had a contagious laugh. She also loved watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. It was evident that she loved people and devoted her life, not only to caring for her family but many others. Elouise will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Bradford York; daughter, Melanie Lane; and brother, Norman Watson. Elouise is survived by her son, Billy Don York and wife, Debra Jo; daughter, Celisa Paris; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, David Watson and wife, Pat of Village Mills, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Providence Hospice, 107 E. Commerce, Mexia, TX 76667.
