Elvia was born on February 10, 1921 in Galveston, Texas to John W. and Addie Fite Rousselle. She married Joe F. Mach on April 2, 1938 in Houston, Texas. She worked as an Executive Secretary in a Military office for many years. Elvia and Joe lived in Baytown for most of their lives before retiring and moving to Mexia. She loved the country life; raising chickens, peaches and gardening. She loved spending time with her family whether on special occasions or just getting together for no particular reason. She was a member of the Catholic Church; however, being in church on Sunday was of the utmost importance to her regardless of the denomination. Elvia is survived by three children, Susan Crawford and husband, Terry of Bellville, Joe F. Mach, III of Waco and Addi Goette and husband, George Workins of Richardson; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Cody Crawford, Adam Mach, Aaron Mach, Eric Mach, Joseph Mach and Newly Mach.
