Mrs. Eudora Dossey, 83, passed August 27, 2011 in Meridian, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 29, 2011 at Mt. Antioch Cemetery near Mt. Calm, Texas. Eudora was born March 13, 1928 in Fort Worth, Texas to Elbert Leon and Julia London Shannon. She graduated from Carter-Riverside High School and went on to business school. She was a bookkeeper during her working life, retiring in 1986. Her last position was with the West Newspaper. She enjoyed reading books and in her later years, enjoyed watching movies from the 40's & 50's, especially John Wayne movies. While in the nursing home, she always looked forward to the Bingo games. Eudora adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spent a wonderful Christmas with all her family last year. Eudora was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Elbert Nathaniel Dossey. She is survived by her son, Carl Shannon Dossey and wife, Nancy of China Spring; grandchildren, Nathan Roy Dossey and wife, Andrea, Jonathan Aaron Dossey and Catherine Elizabeth Dossey; and great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Cayden Shepard Dossey. The family would like to give special thanks to the Meridian Manor Staff for their wonderful care, also, Dr. Blanton and staff at Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton.
