Fayrene Gilliam Obituary

Fayrene Prichard Gilliam, 70, of Mexia passed away July 13, 2010 at her home. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, July 16, 2010 at Old Bethel Cemetery with Mr. Neil Bond officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 pm, Thursday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Fayrene was born August 5, 1939 in Groesbeck, Texas to James Cleburne and Maedell (Williams) Prichard. She retired from Dick Scott Ford after 26 years as office clerk. Fayrene's love and devotion for her family was evident in her life. She had a beautiful smile and friendly "hello" for everyone she met. Her love, courage and strength will be forever remembered by her loving family. Fayrene was a member of the Northcrest Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James B. Prichard and Chesley D. Prichard; and brother-in-law, Joe Davis Thornton. Fayrene is survived by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Hugh A. Gilliam of Mexia; daughters, Carla Ann Hervey and husband, Tom of Waco and Shannon Leigh Easterling and husband, Phil of Mexia; four grandsons, Cole Masters, Maxwell Johnson, Ryan and Ty Easterling; sister, Wanda Thornton of Tehuacana; and number of nieces, nephews and friends. Memorials may be made to the Mexia Academic Sweater Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 534, Mexia, Tx. 76667.
