The once strong, full body of Florene Cockerell Wilson, now frail and failed, has transitioned home to be with God. Florene was born February 10, 1930 and died May 29, 2010. Welcoming her home is James Nolan Wilson, Sr. (husband) and Lonnie Roy and Flora Mae Cockerell (parents). Celebrating her journey home are brother, Roy Cockerell (Juanita) and sister, Dorothy Willard (Pete); as well as daughter, Dianne Garcia (Andy) and grandchildren, Anne Clement, Andrea Oestrick and Kathryn Clover; son, James Nolan Wilson, Jr. (Therese) and grandchildren, Jennifer Walker and Anna Minnich; daughter, Kathy Nickel (Nick) and grandchildren, J. C. Maufrais and Nicki Nickel; and daughter, Karen Marshall (Randy) and grandchild, Kristi Fox. Florene has nine great-grandchildren: Katlyn, Joshua, Reece, Zachary, Emily, Hannah, Caden, Taylor, Elle and a new one due in December. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on May 31, 2010 at the Mexia City Cemetery.
