Frances Goodrich Mexia, Texas Obituary

Frances Goodrich

Frances Loray Goodrich, 88, of Coolidge, passed away August 17, 2015 in Mexia. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 20, 2015 in the Coolidge Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Larry Holden officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Frances was born in Otto, Texas on October 16, 1926 to James Kelly and Ardurow Glover Simmons. She worked for Varo, in Mexia, for a period of time, however, being a wife and mother took presence over everything else; her family was her life. Frances was truly a good cook, although her family (laughingly) gave her the title of "The Best Dressing Maker”, she was the only one they knew who added dill pickles to her dressing. She loved humming birds and was a collector of all types of bird knickknacks. Frances and her husband, Clyde, loved flowers and took great pride in working in their yard. They were so proud when they were awarded “The Yard of The Month” in Coolidge. Frances was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Coolidge. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Goodrich; brothers, Woodrow and James Simmons; sister, Faye Sheldon; and daughter-in-law, Betty Stone, wife of Michael Stone.. Frances is survived by four sons, David Stone and wife, Jo Ann, Michael Stone, Betty, Roger Stone and wife, Pat and Alan Goodrich and wife, Marcy; grandchildren, Shellye Duncan and husband, Dayne, Jennifer Stone, Renee Warren and husband, Ronnie, Kevin Stone and wife, June, Christie Larkin and husband, Sean, Melissa Stone, Shawna Stone, Miranda Quinn and husband, Cody, Holly Lara and husband, Omar and Hope Goodrich; great-grandchildren, Sean and Colby Casarez, Chris and Caeden Thomas, Michael and Macey Brooks, Triston Stone, Mikayla and Hayley Stone, Ryder and River Quinn, Isaiah Lara, Brandon and Kaitlyn Warren, Ashley Warren and Bradlye, Bradye, Brandyn and Braxtyn Duncan; and sister, Mary Alice Levy.
