Gerald Fulton

Gerald Lee Fulton, 73, of Simsboro, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 24, 2015. He was born in Donie to Arthur and Eunice Fulton on Jan. 26, 1942. Gerald attended Donie School and graduated from Teague High School, where he was class president and quarterback for the Teague Lions in 1960. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Sam Houston State in 1964 and continued his education at Baylor University. Gerald married the love of his life, Ann Bozeman Fulton, on June 14, 1963. The Lord blessed their union with two children, Traci Leigh Fulton and Gerald Lynn (Jerry) Fulton. He worked as purchasing agent, then office manager at ABCO in Mexia for 22 years. He later worked for ABCO’s parent company, A. Brandt Manufacturing Company, in Fort Worth. He was division accountant at E.R. Carpenter, Inc. in Temple and retired as business manager of Limestone County Detention Center in Groesbeck. Following retirement, Gerald enjoyed ranching, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. Gerald served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a former member of the Mexia Jaycees and the Rotary Club of Mexia. During his years at ABCO, Gerald was active in the Mexia Chamber of Commerce. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years; his daughter; his parents; and a brother, James Fulton. He is survived by his son, Rev. Gerald Lynn (Jerry) Fulton and wife, Cassie, of Waxahachie; brother, Ken Fulton and wife, Carolyn of Overton; sister, Peggy Riley of Henderson; brother-in-law, Otis Bozeman of Point Enterprise; brother-in-law, William Bozeman and wife, Sharron of Point Enterprise; sister-in-law, Donna Robinson of Mexia; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends; and his faithful dog, Sartor. Funeral services will be at Calvary Baptist Church in Mexia on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Fulton, Rev. Paul Gauntt and Rev. Gaylan Henry officiating. Interment will follow at Lost Prairie Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015. Pallbearers will be Ken Buchanan, Wade Cooper, Alan Ingram, Ross Mathison, Charlie Pickett and Phil Posey. Honorary pallbearers will be J. E. Evans, Charles Holmes, Ray Newsom and Don Turner. Memorials may be made to one of the ministries led by Rev. Jerry Fulton—Baptist Progress, P.O. Box 2085, Waxahachie, Texas 75168 or Anthony Drive Baptist Church Improvement Fund, P.O. Box 9, Ennis, Texas 75120.
