Mrs. Irene Baker, 90, of DeSoto, formerly of Mexia passed away Wednesday morning in DeSoto. Mrs. Baker was born Jan. 2, 1917. She was retired from the Mexia State School and had resided at Park Manor Nursing Home in DeSoto for the past three years. She was our much loved mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughters, Patsy Baker Brown, Nelda R. Baker and son, Joe E. Baker,grandchildren, Jeff Brown, Aimee Brown, Allison Baker and Tracy Baker, stepdaughter, Peggy Humphries and her children, Lee, Lisa and Trey. The family wishes to express thanks to the caregivers at Park Manor and the hospice nurses for their loving care. Services for Mrs. Baker will be Saturday at 1 PM at the Temple Baptist Church in Mexia (Corner of Tyler and Red River Streets). Private graveside services will be in the Sardis cemetery in Leon County, Texas.
