James "Jim" Forrest, 86, of Donna, Texas graduated from this life on September 16, 2009 at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia. Rev. Marcus Sheffield will officiate with interment to follow in New Hope Cemetery in Freestone County. He was born in Mexia, Texas on November11, 1922 to Harry and Kathryn Welborn Forrest. Proud to be an A&M graduate, Jim was a practicing architect in Dallas and Mexia until retiring to Donna. He was an avid reader and believed in learning something new everyday. There was nothing he treasured more than his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Yvonne Fleming Forrest. Jim is survived by his wife, Doreen; sister, Mary Kathryn Parker of Dallas; son, Ron Forrest of Houston; daughter, Cissie Forrest and husband, Bob of Plano; grandchildren, Michael and Brian Forrest and Kyle and Shayna Forrest; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Jim will be missed by his loving friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the Aurora House Foundation, P.O. Box 976, Weslaco, Tx. 78599.
