Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Pastor Gil Ash officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. On November 8, 1978, she married the love of her life, Harvey Boulware, in Sweetwater, Texas. She had been a resident of Mexia (Forest Glade) for 32 years. Janie’s career was being a homemaker; she, fortunately, was able stay at home and raise her children. Janie was an excellent cook and nothing pleased her more than preparing foods for her family and others to enjoy. She also loved flowers and took great pride in having a pretty yard. Janie was an active member of the Forest Glade Baptist Church for 12 years where she taught Sunday school for a number of years. She loved the Lord and lived her life serving Him. For those who knew her, she will always be remembered as a very loving, caring and thoughtful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Janie was a great inspiration to all. She was preceded in death by her father and sister, Rosa. Janie is survived by her husband, Harvey Boulware of Mexia; mother, Maria Velasquez of NC; daughters, Rachel Brasher of Mexia, Monica Boulware of Mexia, Kristi Dockens of DeRidder, LA and honorable daughter, Renee Chavez; sons, Timothy “Lance” Boulware of Mexia and Harvey Boulware, Jr. of Ardmore, OK; 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Narce, Marcella, Blonca and Maria all of Texas, Eurma, Dora and Estella all of NC and Christina of Chicago; brothers, Harvey of Florida, Larry and Andy of NC; and a number on nieces and nephews.
