Jewell Wilson

Jewell Kaye Wilson, 60, of Mexia, passed away April 22, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2016 in the Old Union Cemetery with Mr. Cliff Fox officiating. Visitation with the family will be 3-5 p.m., Sunday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. There will be a family only visitation on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Kaye was born February 25, 1956 in Groesbeck, Texas to Jesse E. and Lucille Roberts Wilson. She grew up in Mexia, graduated from Mexia High School in 1974 and Navarro College in 1976. She was employed at the Mexia State School for 15 years and Wal-Mart for 13 years. Although Kaye never had any children of her own, she helped raise her nieces and nephews, loving them as her own. She enjoyed nothing more than family gatherings; her family always came first, they were her life. Kaye will be remembered for her sweet, unselfish, caring and loving ways. Kaye was a member of Groesbeck Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Connie Wilson; sister, Martha Adams; nephew, Tommy Thompson; and niece, Tracy Wilson. Kaye is survived by her brothers, Jackie Joe Wilson and wife, Glenda of Athens and Jesse Wilson, Jr. and wife, Lee Ann of Dallas; sister, Jerry Lou Wilson of Mexia; nephews, John Thompson, Pat Ed Wilson, Lance Wilson, Matt Adams and Monte Adams; nieces, Stacie Barfield, Jennifer Arguijo, Kellie Noble, Sarah Rattan, Meredith Buck and Brandie Lopez; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Pat Ed Wilson, Monte Adams, Matt Adams, Clint Rattan, James Buck and Michael Arguijo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Groesbeck Church of Christ, Northcrest Church of Christ or charity of choice.
