Mr. Joe Wayne Adams Sr., 70, of Point Enterprise passed away Monday, August 30, 2010 at his residence. Joe was born Feb. 6, 1940 in Union High to Jimmie and Dorothy Sawyer Adams. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army. Joe was a truck driver by trade. Survivors include his wife, Charlsye Adams of Point Enterprise, his children, Tammy Adams, Toni and Robby Kirby, Terry and Susan Adams, Joe W. (Joey) Adams, Jr. and Rainy Adams and Shawn Harbison. Grandchildren, Chase Adams, Jami Adams, Bryant Watt, Chance Kirby, Justin Kirby, Terry Jr., Taylor, Trevor, Kayla, Joe W. (Trey) Adams, III, Caiden Adams, Lauren Staeger and Rachel Ketchum Adams; great-grandchildren, Kaynce and Kaislyn; six sisters, Bud and Charlotte Gregory, Carl and Frances Barnett, Maxine Dyer, Larry and Shela Havard, Janet Curry and Charles Ray and Maudine Reed. He is further survived by his step-children, Ricky and Sharon Sanders, Tamra Scott, Angela and Larry Shelby and Talitha Sanders; step-grandchildren, Rick and Raquel Sanders, Reid and Hallie Sanders, Spencer and Chad Scott, Dustin, Jenna, and Leanne Bonner, Brittany Vaughn, Bryan Beldin, Paige O'Hare and Kelsey Sanders-Terry, three step-great grandchildren, Seth Bonner, Cayse and David Vaughn; sisters and brothers in - law, John and Carol Phillips, Jim and Mary Phillips and Regina Phillips. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jimmie Dorman Adams; and two grandchildren, Terrance Adams and Lil Joey Adams. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 2, 2010 in the Mexia Cemetery with Rev. James Gibbs officiating.
