John Ogilvie, Jr.

Funeral services for John Randolph Ogilvie, Jr., 91, of Coolidge will be 10 a.m. Friday, August 18, 2006 in First Baptist Church in Coolidge. . Rev. Larry Holden and Rev. Bob Rainey will officiate with interment to follow in Coolidge Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday night at Blair - Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia. Mr. Ogilvie was born on September 24, 1914 in Coolidge to John Randolph and Mary (Lamb) Ogilvie and passed away on August 15, 2006 in Waco. He graduated from Westminster College and Baylor University. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coolidge, served in Army Air Corp during World War II and owned and operated H & O Grocery for 31 years in Coolidge. He was a wonderful asset to the Community and was always there to help folks in need. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Beth Ogilvie in 1984, his parents and his sister, Anna Blanche Hawkins. He is survived by his son, John Ogilvie and wife, Jean of Coolidge, and grandchildren, Amanda Ogilvie and Whit Ogilvie, both of Coolidge. Pallbearers will be Donald Erwin, Wyatt Lee Wilson, Billy Poteet, Cliff NeSmith, Billy Forrester and Kendall NeSmith. Honorary pallbearers will be Soap Osborne, Smokey Wade, Travis Brown, Kenneth Gardner and Joe Tanner Hawkins. .
