Funeral services for Jose (Joey) Olivares, Jr. 23, of Mexia will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 in the Calvary Baptist Church in Mexia. Rev.Mario Rivera and Rev. Paul Moore will officiate with interment to follow in Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6 - 8 p.m. Friday night at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Joey was born October 8, 1984 in Teague to Jose and Antonita (Tonie) Olivares and passed away on February 19, 2008 in Hillcrest Hospital in Waco following an automobile accident. He graduated Mexia High School in 2003 where he was very active in athletics. He attended college for a year and was employed by Flo Tech Oilfield Supply Co. He is survived by his mother, Antonita (Tonie) Olivares of Mexia, his father, Jose Olivares, Sr. of Mexia, daughter, Reyna Olivares of Rosenburg, Texas, maternal grandparents, Santiago Rivera of Kingsville and Rosalinda Hernandez of Mexia, paternal grandmother, Porforia Olivares of Alice, brothers and sisters, Joel Olivares, Rose Mary Olivares and Rolando Olivares, all of Mexia , and a number of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He will always be in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Manuel Olivares. Pallbearers will be George Rodriguez, Joel Olivares, Jose Rodriguez, Victor Estrada, Albert Trevino, Miguel Contreras, Martin Olivares, Jr. Ricky Payne, Mark Rodriguez and Anthony Gomez.
